ACTOR & WRITER/DIRECTOR

Trained as an actor & dancer Aki has starred in several west end musicals and plays. Such as Hair (Broadway cast), Hairspray, Westside Story, Chariots of Fire, Umbrellas Of Cherbourg, The Empress (RSC). Alongside doing theatre he featured as dancer in Campaigns for Burberry and Armani. He then went onto work in TV and film, most recently he can be seen in ‘Star Wars:The Last Jedi’, ‘A Moving Image’ (which premiered at BFI London Film Festival) ‘Riot Club’, and ‘Burning Men’. He has also recently appeared in ‘Dr Who’ Rosa Parks episode(BBC) ‘Sick Of It’ (SKY) ‘Defending The Guilty’ (BBC2) ‘Father Brown’ (BBC2). During this time his fascination of film behind and in front of the camera took over and he wanted to learn, create and tell stories. He and a friend then set up production company ‘Small Long Productions’ and In the last two years he has written, directed, produced and starred in his short film SPILT which was nominated at numerous festivals and offered distribution by ‘Shorts of the Week’. Small Long have also just finished producing a short starring Gemma Arteton.

He made his debut feature film ‘ REAL’ through ‘Small Long’ It was his debut as a writer, director, producer. ‘REAL’ had its world premier at the 63rd BFI London Film Festival and also played at LIFF, Pan African Film Festival (nominated best debut feature). REAL will have its theatrical release this summer and can now been seen on Sky Cinema, BFI player and he’s recently sold it to Film4.

He recently just won best leading actor at the British Urban Film Festival for feature film ‘FACES ‘ which will be released early next year on Amazon. And also recently won ‘Rising Star Award’ at this years Screen Nation Awards. He has also been long listed at BIFA Awards for his debut feature REAL, for Best Debut Director, Best Debut Screenwriter and The Raindance Discovery Award.

Aki can currently been seen on one of the BBC most watched shows “Silent Witness” playing the lead role of Gabriel Folukoya.

Alongside this Aki has just finished writing his second feature film ‘HUM’ which has been optioned. He’s in commission with C4 with his tv series ‘Little Faith’. He is also in commission with Lionsgate ,Eleven Films (Sex Education) and Sky TV creating a tv show with musician Arlo. He also has tv drama in development with BBC Studios.
